Day 8 : Hanayashiki Amusement Park
On Day 8 of our vacation,we decided to make a visit to Hanayashiki Amusement Park in Asakusa. The park is just a few hundred metres away from our hotel but prior to our visit, we only passed by the amusement park. Hanayashiki is the oldest amusement park in Japan, having been in operation since 1853! Admission to the park is not exactly cheap, if you plan to spend the day trying out all the rides there

Less than one month till our vacation to Japan and I really, really need to refresh and familiarise myself towards the Japanese language again. Admittedly I don’t really know much, and what I depend on is the survival phrases and for that JapanesePod101 came handy with their Survival Phrase segment. It’s been a year since I listened to any of their podcasts (because I was too pre-occupied with all things Koreans this year) and it is high time I start listening again.

Look what I got for myself last week. A Sony NEX-5 camera! I’ve been researching for a new camera for a while now, and although I was more inclined to get a DSLR (either a Nikon or Canon), I chickened-out and opted for a more beginner friendly camera.

Family Vacation Photos – Are You In There?
I like browsing through our old photos. I got this idea of putting up several photos of my mug in my other blog, Lina’s Backyard but can you believe it – there isn’t much photo of myself in our whole collection of photos! I asked a friend of mine who is an avid photographer about how many photos of himself in his vacation album and he told me that out of the few hundreds photos of his vacation in Beijing last December, he was in the photos for about 15 photos! I didn’t fare much better -

Almost all our hotel stays while vacationing in Japan will be at one of Toyoko Inn Hotel chain. They have a hotel almost everywhere in Japan! Not to mention cheap too. A double room at Toyoko Inn costs us less than 10,000yen
