Snow packs don’t handle quick changes well so rapid changes in weather can have bad effects on the snow. If the bond between upper layers of the snow pack are weak, rain and changes in temperature can be factors that contribute to layers in a triggered area fracturing which could result in a slide

What a morning! The snow gods were predicted to bring us at least 20cm overnight and they ended up giving us 40. It was very cold, with the wind chill taking the temperature down to around -25ºC, resulting in light, dry powder and lots of it.

Weather reports are showing that there could be a fair amount of snow fall tonight which means resist the urge to stay at Wild Bill’s all night, get yourself in bed a little earlier than usual and make sure you’re on the lifts when they start turning tomorrow morning.
