Day 12 In Japan : Last Minute Shopping Spree

Our day 12 in Japan was our last day to do any last minute sightseeing or shopping before our flight back to Malaysia the day after. I don’t know why, but on this trip, we somehow had no time to do and visit the places we always head to during our vacation like in previous years.

Festivals Around The Corner

Summer months always garner various celebrations in Japan; with parades, fireworks and crowds taking over the streets throughout the country. It became popular in the Edo period (1603-1868) as events to relieve summer fatigue. Another way to relieve summer fatigue is by eating unagi (eel), I was told.

Sushi Zanmai For A Snack

There are plenty of sushi restaurants in Asakusa (what do you expect kan? This is after all, Japan. XD) but contrary to what people think – that we eat sushi and more sushi everyday when in Japan; we’ve only been to a sushi restaurant a few times there.

An Oden Adventure In The Back Alleys Of Asakusa

Planning our trip, we had in our must-do list, a visit to a famous oden place in Asakusa, Otafuku which was nearby to the Toyoko Inn hotel we were staying in. But as luck would have it, the few times we went there, the place was closed or closing! After a couple of unsuccessful tries, we kinda gave up.
