Every single time I needed to find a shop or convenience store just to buy a bottle of water and queue for them, I miss this. Or that time when I saw an out-of-order vending machines in KL, I miss these too. Rows and rows of vending machines – they sell almost everything and can be found almost everywhere in Japan

Trains, Trains, Trains – Rides In Kyushu

Last month, I posted some photos of airport trains ; the N’EX, the Rapi:t and the Haruka in one of my posts. Now, time for some photos of the trains we took zipping along the island of Kyushu. We took this Limited Express Huis Ten Bosch from Hakata Station to HuisTen Bosch Station.

I Miss This… Part I

One of the things I miss about Japan: High-tech toilets! I’d miss this every single time I had to park my derriere on a cold seat each time I needed to do my business. I miss fiddling at all those buttons too!

A Picnic By The Bay

Food We Ate : Ekiben From Akita Station

After spending two nights in Akita on Day 3 and 4 of our vacation in Japan; it’s time for us to head back to Tokyo. Taking the shinkansen from Akita to Tokyo is another excuse for us to enjoy the ekiben sold at the station. Ekiben covers are always interesting.

After our trip to an orchard and having a great time looking at grapes, pears, apples and kiwis still attached to their trees/vines or whatever; we decided on the last minute to take the Resort Shirakami train on the Gono Line. By last minute, I mean -

Sometimes, when we are too lazy or too tired to go out for dinner after a long day sightseeing, we opted to bring back food and eat in the comfort of our hotel room. Usually, instead of buying food at a restaurant to-go, we would just head to the nearest supa or depachika for our dinner. What’s depachika?
